A paid media audit should answer one main question: can this account reliably create more commercial value if we add budget? Do not review platform settings in isolation. Assess the full chain from intent to sales feedback.
1. Measurement and commercial definition
- Is a qualified lead defined clearly?
- Are primary and supporting conversions separated?
- Are duplicate and irrelevant conversions excluded?
- Can CRM lead status be returned to the advertising platform?
2. Intent and structure
- Does every campaign map to a recognizable search or buying intent?
- Are branded, non-branded and competitor terms separated deliberately?
- Do real search terms match the offer?
- Are markets, languages and propositions comparable without being forced together?
3. Message and landing page
- Does the ad answer the specific intent?
- Is the value proposition concrete without unsupported superlatives?
- Does the landing page continue the promise of the ad?
- Does the conversion point fit the buyer's decision stage?
4. Budget and optimization
- Does budget flow to segments with enough signal and commercial relevance?
- Do bidding strategies fit the available data volume and goal?
- Are exclusions and negative keywords actively managed?
- Is every experiment built around an explicit hypothesis?
5. Feedback and governance
- Does marketing receive structured feedback about lead quality?
- Is ownership for changes, documentation and evaluation clear?
The next step
Score every answer green, amber or red. Resolve red issues in measurement and lead definition before seeking scale. Then prioritize intent and landing-page alignment. Without that foundation, budget optimization simply makes an unclear system larger.
